Locals Sponsor Documentary Showing and Raffle for Gaza Family

Arcata, ca –
Have you wondered how a supposedly democratic society could find a reason to support genocide? Are you finding yourself questioning the narratives for Israel’s genocide on Gaza? Do you wish you could do more to help those enduring the most horrific bombing campaign of our time? Are you exhausted from all the advocacy and looking to find some solidarity with other members of your community who feel the same?

Come to the Minor Theatre on October 22nd and attend this important film screening! Purchase raffle tickets for items from local businesses! All funds raised from ticket sales and raffle tickets will be sent to Muhammad, a new father in Gaza whose infant daughter, Ayla, has been fighting to survive due to Israel’s blockade and bombardment of the Gaza Strip.

About the Film
Award winning author and journalist, Max Blumenthal, rips the cover off the media deception and atrocity hoaxes Israel pushed after October 7 to create political space for its gruesome assault on the Gaza Strip. This important documentary exposes the US mainstream media’s role as a megaphone for the Israeli government, introducing new lies even after their initial ones were debunked. Atrocity Inc raises serious questions about the official narrative of October 7, while revealing how Israel’s army has consciously engaged in the same hideous atrocities which it falsely accused Palestinian militants of committing.

About the Raffle
Several local businesses have donated to this important cause, including skincare items, and gift certificates to yoga and pole dancing studios, and personal trainers. We will have the gift baskets and gift certificates on display as early as 6pm and will be selling raffle tickets before, during and after the 45-minute film. Raffle winners will be announced approximately 10 minutes after the movie ends. Raffle tickets are $1 each, 6 for $5, and 12 for $10, and 15 for $20. We will take cash or venmo and you don’t need to be present to win!

This is an opportunity for people in our community to put their hearts and minds in the right place and do good. This event occurs on the same day that the International Court of Justice (ICJ) intends to issue an advisory ruling on Israel’s legal obligations regarding the presence and activities of the United Nations, other international organizations, and third states in East Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Now is the time to continue to educate ourselves, be critical of mainstream media, and to support those suffering under horrific circumstances.
