Candlelight Yoga & Sukha Soundbath with Shemaia

Om Shala Yoga

The word ‘sukha’ refers to ease/peace/inner joy. It literally means ‘good space’. In Patanjalis Yoga Sutras, it is one of two qualities we are to cultivate in yoga practice. There is a quiet joyful place within each of us where we can find sanctuary.

The practice for this monthly session is an interweave of slow breath driven movements, long held yin poses, restoratives with prop support, self sound therapies using the voice, breathwork (pranayama) and live nourishing music: native american flute, mantras, harp, medicine songs, guitar, didj, kalimba, hangdrum… followed by a long healing svasana with live sound bath that may include gong, singing bowls, tuning forks, crystal bowls and bells.

Guest healers and musicians are sometimes in the mix, offering some variety to the mix. Come bathe in cleansing, healing sound currents that quiet the Mind, retune the nervous system, refresh the body. Hands on healers offer reiki, tuning forks, and aromatherapy. AAAH!
