Join Redwood Region Audubon Society and Dr. Ben Vernasco on Wednesday, November 16 for a live and virtual presentation entitled “Chasing birds in the Amazon and the Alpine: Stories from a Field Biologist.” Dr. Ben Vernasco will share stories from his research in two contrasting habitats, the Ecuadorian Amazon and the Wallowa Mountains of Northeastern Oregon, and show examples of his work with Neotropical manakins, Wire-tailed Manakins, and Wallowa Rosy-finches, a subspecies of the Gray-crowned Rosy-finch that exclusively breeds in the Wallowa Mountains. The program starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Six Rivers Masonic Lodge, 251 Bayside Road, Arcata. Go to www.rras.org for the program’s zoom link.
