Dance Party - 3 Bands!

Arcata Playhouse

Put on your dancing shoes and come to the Not So Gospel Dance Party at the Arcata Playhouse, 1251 9th St., Saturday, August 20 from 7 to 11pm!  Three bands will play and a no host snack and drink bar will be available.  Jenni & David and the Sweet Soul Band, FireSign and Asha Nan will play a mix of soul, funk, blues, rock, reggae and world dance music. 

Tickets are available on line at AIGC.BrownPaperTickets.com or at the door.  This dance is a benefit the work of the Arcata Interfaith Gospel Choir.

 Jenni & David and the Sweet Soul Band create a fun, audience-engaging, dance party feeling wherever they play. Enjoy the outstanding vocals, soulful funk, and rhythmic blues grooves. The band consists of five seasoned musicians: Jenni Simpson (Vocals & Baritone Saxophone), David Childers (Guitars & Vocals), Julie Froblom (Saxophone & Vocals), Justin Hobart Brown (Bass Guitar), and Peter Krueger (Drums & Vocal).  FireSign plays an exciting mix of pop, folk and indie rock tunes that will get you up and dancing.  FireSign members are Jim Hubbard (Guitar & Vocals), Tamara Hubbard (Vocals), Rich Kerns (Guitar), Trevor Enright (Drums), Bob Johnson (Bass), and Misha Schwarz (Keyboard).  

 Asha Nan makes you want to get up and dance! They pulse out a soulful blend of Brazilian, African, Reggae, Funk, and Hip-hop grooves.  Band members include Mike Kimmel (Drums), Greg Stokes (Bass), Ju Drum Osadolo (Congas, Drums & Vocals), Michael Osadolo (Guitar & Vocals), Jeff Thomas (Vocals),  and Yemaya Kimmel (Vocals, Percussion & French horn)
