Alien Contamination (1980) is a science fiction horror film directed by Luigi Cozzi and starring Ian McCulloch. Following the surprising success of his cheapjack Star Wars knockoff, Star Crash, Italian director Luigi Cozzi was given the helm of this cheapjack Alien knockoff. A ship pulls into New York Harbor with no one on board. The police find a cargo full of green pulsating eggs. Upon contact, the eggs explode spreading a green acid like substance that seeps into the skin and makes people explode. It is later discovered that the eggs are being manufactured in South America by a one-eyed Martian that grew from a tiny seed a former astronaut brought back from a expedition to Mars. Cozzi, a less-talented protégé of Dario Argento, at least gets a good soundtrack by using his mentor’s house band Goblin.
