The Giants of Thessaly (1960) is an Italian sword and sandal epic directed by Riccardo Freda with an evocative and spectacular score by Carlo Rustichelli. In order to placate the angry gods who’ve allowed Thessaly to be overrun with barbarian invaders and beset with natural disasters, King Jason takes his Argonauts on a search for the fabled Golden Fleece. Jason successfully leads his crew of would-be heroes throughout a series of outstanding adventures where they are confronted by a heinous witch named Gaia on an island of women called Lemmos, encounter monsters including a giant bearded Cyclops and more. Meanwhile, back at home, his scheming regent is plotting to get his hands on the kingdom and the queen.
