It’s that time of year again, whether you’re madly in love or fresh out… we are bringing UK producer, ZEN FREEMAN all the way to Humboldt to headline this special event (also the official Mr. Humboldt after party). We are getting ready for a high energy night of feel good, headbanging and melodic EDM as Zen brings his main stage expertise to Arcata. You may know him from his work with Boy George, Rufus Wainwright, Macy Gray, Jason Derulo and Mr. Hudson or maybe his presence at fashion events including Prada, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Giorgio Armani, and Vanity Fair. He’s a pioneer in the industry and has seen major engagement due to his risk taking. We are very excited to have the multi club resident make his Humboldt debut with us at this special event!

ZEN will be joined by Brazilian artist Marjo Lak, who you can expect to hear a set with a range of Tech-house, Electro Swing, Brazilian Pop, World, Soul, Funk, Dub to disco, and jazz influenced music. MASON PARC will be celebrating his birthday with us by throwing down a beautifully blended house set with bass and future sound influence. There will be a special guest DJ to round out the night as well as a vocal performance from BELLA ROSE. The Vagabond Dancers will be stealing hearts all night as they rock the stage while Bella Vita Fire Co. keeps it HOT on the outside stage.

ZEN FREEMAN:
Zen Freeman, the London-raised and Los Angeles-based DJ, artist and music producer artfully adds a touch of refinement to his immersive sets and hypnotic, head-nodding original productions. Whether curating music for Aston Martin, SpaceX, Gucci, and Vogue; soundtracking events for The Academy® Awards, Jeff Bezos, LACMA, and MOCA Galas; or unveiling songs of his own with icons such as Boy George, Rufus Wainwright, Macy Gray, Jason Derulo and Mr. Hudson, he seamlessly adapts to any setting.

Growing up in London, he spent his nights in the embrace of the UK’s storied club and underground party scene. Touching down in Los Angeles in 2003 after DJ-ing one of the hottest Golden Globes® parties, he quietly emerged as an in-demand musical presence and a pioneer in the global metropolitan club scene. Prada, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Giorgio Armani, and Vanity Fair sought out his curation, while Cartier, Burberry, Audi and Louis XIII enlisted him as a music supervisor. Hundreds of exclusive parties followed, with events for the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Elton John, Jeff Bezos, and Elon Musk, at venues ranging from Sundance Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival to Cannes Film Festival. At the same time, he headlined solo residencies at Las Vegas mega clubs XS Nightclub, Encore Beach Club, Zouk Nightclub, Ayu Dayclub and Voltaire. He effectively established himself as the first luxury brand DJ to tour worldwide and grace the stages of festivals on multiple continents.

Building up a catalog of original compositions, Zen has generated tens of millions of streams, collaborated with Fred Falke, Todd Edwards, Ten Ven, and Picard Brothers, and released tracks on West End Records, Higher Ground, Defected, Atlantic Records, and Sony Music. He’s attracted the support of Calvin Harris, Diplo, A-Trak, Disclosure, and Pete Tong. In 2024, he continued to sharpen his signature style with his latest remix of Calvin Harris & Rag’n’Bone Man’s “Lovers In A Past Life.” Powered by retro synthesizers and nineties drum machines, it nods to turn-of-the-century French house with a straightforward yet unshakable groove.

MARJO LAK:
Brazilian Music Festivals are the roots of DJ Marjo Lak’s career, inspired by the collective celebration that is DANCE. Marjo’s eclectic soundscapes range from Tech-house, Electro Swing, Brazilian Pop, World, Soul, Funk, Dub to disco, and jazz. Since moving to California’s North Coast, Marjo has become well known in the Humboldt Electronic Music scene. Marjo initiated SUMMERTRONICA, the first all-electronic music tent, at the 30+ year Mateel Summer Arts & Music Festival in Benbow, CA and is a member of the long-standing, local (and beloved) DJ collective Deep Groove Society. She and her husband created Fraktal Productions in 2015 to introduce renowned musical artists to eager local audiences. Most recently, Marjo was blessed to share her music and passion for Electronic Music at festivals across the west coast, Brazil and Europe, including Oregon Eclipse Gathering by Symbiosis, Sonica Festival/Italy, Universo Paralello Brazil, Enchanted Forest Gathering, and Northern Nights Music Festival. Through it all, DJ Marjo Lak was able to do what she loves best: spreading her love of Dance Music with new audiences locally and internationally.

BELLA ROSE:
Bella Rose is a seasoned and multifaceted creatrix. She’s started pursuing performance art at a young age, and holds a lot of passion for all of her projects. With a Music Degree in Vocal Performance: Jazz Studies, Bella Rose loves to sing and express emotion through sound and improvisation. With a raspy, whimsical, and powerful sound, her goal is to honor the styles of the past while adding a dash of her own flare inspired by the music of today. Trained in ballet, jazz, and musical theatre, she conveys a very energetic and theatrical style of dance. For the past 5 years she has performed as a Go-Go and Burlesque Dancer regularly with multiple companies. She’s had the honor of dancing at multiple venues across California, including the San Francisco Regency Ballroom, The Hollywood Palladium, and Ace of Spades in Sacramento. She’s been booked as an entertainer for the last 3 years at Northern Nights Music Festival. Throughout her career, Miss Rose has starred in countless theatre productions including West Side Story at American River College, and No Exit at North Coast Repertory Theatre. She has also dabbled in Film and can be seen on Netflix in 13 Reasons Why, and in multiple short films. She trains and constantly pursues being the best triple threat she can be.

VAGABOND DANCERS:
The beautiful Vagabond dancers have been featured at numerous festivals both in person and online, such as Burning Man, Northern Nights, & Stay at Home Music Festival, Outdoor shows, and indoor venues. Come be captivated as they are sure to keep your attention, mixing styles of hip hop, flow, contemporary, gogo, & more.

“Some Like it Hot” weaving together Fire and Dance. Fire dancing troupe offering unique live entertainment honoring the alchemy of transformation through the sacred element of Fire. Founded by Bella Fire In 2010 BVF is a dynamic collective of fire/ flow artists in

LOCATING THE EVENT:
It is located on Gst in Arcata, just south of Redwood Curtain Brewery. Google directions to 700 south G st, Arcata

Getting to the Event:
We recommend ride sharing, and using the drop off zone in the Redwood Curtain parking lot. There will also be limited street parking around the event as well as multiple public lots.

Bathrooms:
There are porta potties near the fire, there is extra toilet paper inside. Please be respectful and do not ruin the extra rolls. VIP bathrooms are located inside below the VIP lounge.
