Tidal Gallery is excited to present Moments in Contrast, a new exhibition by acclaimed photographer James Adam Taylor, opening November 22, 2024 from 5:30-8:30 during the Holiday Open House. This collection features previously unseen works from Taylor’s travels in Iceland and his exploration of the natural beauty of Humboldt County. It offers a rare and intimate glimpse into these two distinct yet equally captivating landscapes in an exhibition of black and white photographs made between “changes of state.” The brevity of a winter snow in the Bald Hills, the moments of surfable waves during a Pineapple Express, and the rush to experience Iceland in less than 48 hours. Taylor’s landscapes convey feelings of grandeur and serenity, with an unspoken tension in the powerful force of nature’s atmospheric displays.
