Ocean Night: Disobedience and Here and Now
This month we are honoring International Surfing Day June 20th! It is a celebration of the connection we share through surfing and the ocean. Here and Now is a movie about that connection.
Here and Now: Forget those high-flying acrobatics we love like the circus: this is a movie about real surfing. Adventures. Road trips. Wipeouts. Getting skunked. Going camping. And finally scoring.
This film was shot in one day. More than 25 filmmakers and surfers worked in unison to document the world of surfing in a single 24-hour period: May 2, 2012. From world champs free spirits, this project brings together shapers, photographers, legends, beginners, third world, first world and surf world. Some scored big. Others couldn’t find a ripple. It’s all part of the surfing experience.
Disobedience: This film tells the David vs Goliath tales of front line leaders around the world risking life and limb in the fight for a liveable climate. Interwoven with this riveting verité footage are the most renowned voices in the global conversation around social movements and climate justice for a series that is personal, passionate and powerful. The stakes could not be higher, nor the missions more critical.
