Pirates! Band of Misfits (2012)

After many years of humiliation - the luxuriously bearded, boundlessly enthusiastic, and somewhat less than successful Pirate Captain (Hugh Grant) is growing tired of his failed attempts at winning the “Pirate of the Year” award. So now with his oddball crew of misfits (Brendan Gleeson, Martin Freeman) they take on the the seemingly impossible odds stacked up against them in order to accomplish his dream of being “Pirate of the Year” and to defeat his bitter rivals: Black Bellamy (Jeremy Piven) and Cutlass Liz (Salma Hayek) in a race to pillage the most booty. They soon cross paths with Charles Darwin, his side kick Man-Panzee, and the pirate hating Queen Victoria herself who seems to have an agenda of their own. It’s a quest that takes us to Blood Island, through foggy Victorian London, and asks the question wether it is better to be crowned and bask in fame and glory, or to stay faithful to a trusted crew all while never loosing sight of what pirates love most - adventure.
