Though the original instigator of this event, John Elliott, unfortunately cannot make it up from the bay area due to illness, the show will go on.

Ruby Ruth George is a soulful singer-songwriter whose music blends elements of country, folk, jazz, blues, and gospel into heartfelt songs rooted in lived experience. Born and raised on the California’s Redwood Coast, they began singing in Gospel Choir at age four and soloing by seven. Their passion for performance, storytelling, and instrumentation grew, shaped by hours spent learning trumpet, saxophone, violin, and guitar, and drawing inspiration from artists ranging from Ella Fitzgerald to Nirvana. After moving to Portland, Oregon as a teen, Ruby cultivated a sound uniquely their own, marked by raw vulnerability, sharp wit, and soulful resilience on vocals and guitar. Their journey has taken them across the country; from collegiate A Cappella in Oregon to Equestrian Studies in Missouri. From a barn in Kentucky to a ranch in California; all of which have colored their music with depth and authenticity. Now back home in Humboldt, Ruby continues to write and perform music that reflects their experience as a disabled queer person, weaving personal truth into songs that connect with audiences through empathy, humor, and a deep joy of life. www.rubyruthgeorge.com

The Ponies of Harmony are a harmony singing songwriting duo of multi-instrumentalists Katie Belknap (clarinet, guitar) and James Zeller (trombone, guitar). They are like two wild horses, these ponies, bandits of love roaming the peripheries. They long for their music to bring peace to each other and to their listeners, then often find their manes tangled in the briars, their hooves tattered, often a back leg limping. But they just as often find themselves waking up on a fine morning, finding their stride is still there, grabbing their instruments, climbing aboard their trusted steeds (bicycles), racing off to a farmers market or an anti-war event, and summoning the strength to somehow continue the fight for a different world with the not-so-secret weapon feared by all tyrants and fascists: music and poetry. www.poniesofharmony.bandcamp.com
