The Little Prince (1974)
Based on the magical musical fantasy by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, the fable of The Little Prince starts out when a French aviator (Richard Kiley) is forced to make an emergancy landing in the middle of the barren Sahara Desert. Soon after his crash landing he happens upon a young blonde child who just so happens to be a Prince from the planet Asteroid B-612. In the following days, the pilot learns about the Little Prince’s history, his planet hopping adventures, and how he has been inspecting the Universe. It isn’t until he comes to Earth that the Prince learns the secrets of the importance of life from a Fox, a Snake, and the pilot. This film from 1974 also features a slithery show stopping dance routine by Bob Fosse and also stars the recently deceased comedy legend Gene Wilder.
