Traveling Broke and Out of Gas
Folk/Americana/bluegrass/indie from Lafayette, Indiana makes the trek to the top of the hill McKinleyville.
Led by the sultry vocals of Rachael Yanni and cerebral songwriting of Cody Hall, Traveling Broke and Out of Gas has created a niche for themselves with their own brand of diverse, Folk inspired sounds. The moods, tempo, and instrumentation change from song to song, keeping both the audience and the band on their toes.
Originally formed as a husband and wife duo that traveled the country playing for strangers on street corners, living rooms, and campfires, Traveling Broke and Out of Gas, now with four band members, has an ever changing folk/blues/rock/country style and sound that has been appropriately labeled ‘Bastard Americana’. Traveling Broke’s wide variety of original songs reflect stories of social justice, sustainability, freedom, family, and love. Soulful vocals and diverse instrumental enthusiasm match the powerful lyrics in a magical display to behold.
With three full length albums, and national and regional tours under their belt, Traveling Broke and Out of Gas is not slowing down anytime soon. Look out for them in your town, because they are coming; be it in a coffee house, dive bar, stadium, concert hall, or street corner.
