Whiskey Sunday
Whiskey Sunday rolled into Humboldt like a stout breeze off the bay: loud, warm, and built for a room full of friends. The Los Angeles-based band, founded by Patrick Joseph Rieger back in 2012, mixes Americana storytelling with revved-up Irish-folk energy. It is porch-stomp music with a little prairie wind in it, the kind that makes you want to pour something strong and sing the chorus back at the speakers.
After a busy weekend run through the area, they are gearing up for two more shows. KHUM DJ Jordan in the Afternoon had a quick Q&A with the band to put voices to names, talk road stories and St. Paddy’s week vibes, and then get to what really matters: live songs in the studio. Expect fiddle-driven fire, big harmonies, and that “you had to be there” momentum that only a touring band can bring.
