Real talk. We must start out by noting that, while the Outpost often goes to great lengths to attempt to list every possible response for our Friday Humboldt’s Best polls, what you will find below is a list that absolutely does not include every bridge in Humboldt. Oh, there are a lot of them. Still too many, really. But we will admit that we have omitted some.

For example, we’ve arbitrarily decided that, in order to qualify for this poll, a bridge must cross water — sorry, Arcata Pedestrian Bridge! Also, just because a section of Highway 101 crosses some slough, that does not guarantee it will be included here. Look, we were very lenient, but lines had to be drawn. As we were going over the map of Humboldt County, if we thought, “Oh, that bridge is neat,” then we put it on the list. Still, we know in our bones that ninety percent of the bridges below have no chance of winning this pointless poll. Let it be an honor just to be nominated, OK?
