POLL! Is it a Problem That California Takes So Long to Count Ballots?
This morning, the New York Times’ editorial board joined a growing chorus of voices singing an increasingly impatient song: California takes too damn long to count its ballots.
In an editorial entitled “California’s Excuses are Damaging Faith in Government” — guest link here — the Times argues that the slow, slow pace of tabulation we’ve fallen into after the pandemic, when we switched to universal mail-in ballots, is not just a minor annoyance. It’s causing a crisis of faith in government itself.
What do you think? Is that so? Do we need to make changes?
