POLL! How Much Should a Good Burger Cost?

Maybe, in your mind, it looks something like this. Public domain burger photo.

Last week, Lost Coast Brewery learned the hard way that their contribution to the North Coast Journal‘s burger week, the “Kangaroo Jack,” a hefty-looking slab prepared from “100% kangaroo,” was about as illegal to sell in California as a burger made of Moby Dick or Simba the lion. We may never know if ‘roo meat is leaps and bounds better than cow, but your bank account is probably thrilled you never got to taste the difference: the Kangaroo Jack was going to go for a Foster’s-sized fee, $27.99 pre-tax. (Fries maybe included.)

That is — almost undeniably — a lot of money for a burger. Assuming it’s not made of kangaroo, how much do you think a good burger should go for? (We’ll leave “good” vague. Fill in the blanks with your own preferences, but let’s assume it’s coming with a side of fries.)
