Baby Buck?
Daily Photo
I’m no expert but this little black-tail yearling has tiny ridges above his(?) eyes. I think those are beginning antlers. February and March are when they are supposed to lose their antlers so I could be wrong.
The buck with this family group (Buck, two does and this yearling) still had his antlers though. By next fall, this little guy will be out on his own. The dominant doe in the group usually drives off the young males by the time they are a year and a half old. This litlle Bambi will be in search of his own Faline and within a year or two have his own family group during the winter when males and females mix.
