Humboldt Co. Press Release:
At about 1300 hours on 04-17-2012 a Detective from the Reno Nevada Police Department contacted the Humboldt County Drug Task Force, regarding a subject named, Marcello Scacci age 37 they had contacted and detained in Reno Nevada. The Detective advised HCDTF that the Scacci had $6,000 dollars in cash on his person. The Detective further advised that Scacci was carrying a large duffle bag that was empty, but his duffle bag had a strong odor of marijuana emitting from inside. The Detective learned through his investigation that Scacci had sold two pounds of marijuana recently to a subject in Utah. Scacci told Detectives in Reno that he lived at a residence in the 2800 block of Greenwood Heights Road, Kneeland, California. Scacci was arrested by the Reno Police Department on a money laundering charge.
With the information provided by the Reno Police Department, HCDTF wrote a search warrant for Scacci’s residence on Greenwood Heights Road, Kneeland. At approximately 1530 hours the Humboldt County Drug Task, assisted by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at Scacci’s residence. Officers located a male subject at the residence, who was detained, but later released with no charges.
Officers located an indoor marijuana grow operation in one of the structures on the property. Officers seized approximately 100 growing marijuana plants that ranged in size from 3’ to 4’ in height. Officers located a shotgun, processed marijuana, scales and packaging materials in the residence. Officers noticed while on the property that Scacci’s had no PG&E power. Officers located a PG&E bill stating that in late March Scacci’s electricity had been turned off for nonpayment of his PG&E bill.
Officers noticed a possible fire hazard with the electrical wiring from the indoor marijuana growing operation. Officers contacted Humboldt County Building and Planning Department, who responded to the scene. Humboldt County Building and Planning Department contacted PG&E to advise them of a possible fire hazard from the indoor marijuana growing operation if his power was turned back on.
An arrest warrant will be submitted to the Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office for Scacci’s arrest for cultivation and possession for sales of marijuana.
