Representatives from the Emerald Growers Association (EGA) will be on Dennis Huber’s Monday Morning Magazine early tomorrow. They will be talking about their upcoming testimony before the Boards of Supervisors in both Humboldt and Mendocino on Tuesday.
“I’m pretty disappointed,” says Emerald Growers Association’s Chair, Kristin Nevedal about the Humboldt County Board’s policy on marijuana. “Their lack of policy is damaging to the community. We see it in the environment. We see it in the lack of safe access for patients. We see it in people getting their children taken away.”
Marijuana policy in Humboldt, she says, “leans more towards prohibition and coming down with a a heavy hand by law enforcement on patient providers…They are taking a prohibition stance towards policy as opposed to a 215 patients’ stance.”
Nevedal hopes to testify about her group’s position before the Humboldt Co. Board this Tuesday. Meanwhile, other EGA members will be testifying before the Mendocino Board of Supervisors about their request that the Mendocino Board of Supervisors stand up to the federal government’s subpoena of the “Ziptie” medical marijuana program.
