In another example of bad folks ruining it for good, The windows of Tin Can Mailman Used Books face H Street in Arcata, a perfect, prominent place to promote local events through the time-tested use of posting flyers. And for years, the fine staff at Tin Can has accepted organizer’s posters, taking the time to tape them inside the window, where they announce, safe from the weather, but visible to all, “Something is happening!”
But no more.
“We’re taking a break,” the booksellers said. Apparently too many flyer-dropper-offers sashay into the shop with a sense of entitlement, demanding, rather than asking, that their posters be taped up now.
Moral of the story: Don’t be a jerk, jerks.
