The US National Weather Service announced this evening that Eureka set a new April 24 temperature high of 70 degrees.  The old record, set in 1913, was 68 degrees. (Note: the official spot to take the temperature is Woodley Island.  Areas of Eureka further inland probably had even higher temperatures.)
