The office of Gov. Jerry Brown just announced that his office has signed a new gaming compact with the Wiyot Tribe.
But don’t look for a new casino on Table Bluff. According to the governor’s office:
The Tribe has agreed to forgo opening a gambling casino on its lands, which are adjacent to the Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge. In exchange, the Tribe will receive up to 3.5 percent of the gaming revenue from the North Fork Tribe’s casino, which is slated to open in Madera County.
Congrats, Wiyots! Get the full compact here.
