The short answer to the headline is no. This morning I talked with Bob, one of the weather forecasters at the National Weather Service offices on Woodley Island.
In a nutshell, it’s a good news/bad news scenario. We have had a better than normal amount of rainfall for the month of February: That’s good. However, we are still 11 inches below normal for the rain year. That’s bad.
Local reservoirs are substantially higher, but we are still in drought conditions. In fact, it looks like we will have sun for at least the next week. According to Bob, we could be setting up for another big ridge of high pressure that will keep the rain away for the forseeable future.
So, in a nutshell: Keep conserving water.
