UPDATE 6 p.m.: Deputy US Marshal Palmer warned that Ronald Sanchez, Jr., the son of Ronald Sanchez, Sr. who escaped from a work party today in Arcata is dangerous. He asked people who spot the man to quickly call 911.
“Do not attempt to approach him,” Palmer warned.

Update 11:48 a.m.: Press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
On 06-04-2014, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Ronald Snyder Sanchez Jr., 26 years old, walked away from a Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office work crew. Sanchez was being held in custody for 120 days on a California State Parole Violation. The originating charge was burglary.
A Humboldt County Correctional Officer was supervising Sanchez and nine other inmates at the time Sanchez left the work crew. The inmates were working on the side of US 101 at Sunset Blvd, Arcata. When other inmates were interviewed, they told the Correctional Officer that Sanchez suddenly dropped his equipment and fled the work crew. A be-on-the-lookout to all law enforcement has been issued for Sanchez who is now wanted for escape, besides the originating charge.
Sanchez is described as follows: 26 years old, Hispanic male, approximately 5’ 8” tall, Approximately 300 [200] lbs, brown hair, brown eyes. He was last seen wearing blue denim pants and a blue denim shirt.
Sanchez is known to frequent the 1400 block of Rohnerville Road, Fortuna 600 block of Summer Street Fortuna, 700 block of P street, Eureka, and 2500 of Garland Avenue, Eureka. If anyone sees Sanchez, they should 911.
UPDATE 11:24 a.m.: The escaped inmate is the brother of Silverio Sanchez (until he was arrested earlier this year, Silverio Sanchez was on several most wanted lists) and the inmate is also the son of the Ronald Sanchez, Sr. who arrested this morning.

Original post: According to Lt. Steve Knight of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, an inmate assigned to a Caltrans’ work crew has just walked away from the job site on Sunset Ave near 101 in Arcata. Ronald Sanchez, Jr. (age 26), last seen wearing blue denim work clothes, walked away this morning at 10 a.m.. He could possibly be headed to Fortuna or to the area of 7th Street in Eureka.
Sanchez is related to Silverio Sanchez arrested earlier this year and to the Ronald Sanchez, Sr. arrested by the US Marshals earlier today. The exact relationship is unclear at this time.
