According to the US National Weather Service, Eureka is hotter on this date as of 9:30 this morning, than it has ever been before in recorded history.

Current temperature on Woodley island in Eureka at 9:30 AM is 71 degrees. Already broke the record of 69 set in 1993. Enjoy the sunshine!

This might be a day to head to the river! Or an ocean beach. Post your photos of how you are cooling off in the comment section. Give us some tips on surviving today’s tip top temperatures.

(Don’t forget that river temperatures can be very cold this time of year. This can drain body heat causing hypothermia. Be cautious.)
