Kimberly Lyn Steele, the 28-year-old Samoa woman arrested last month in connection with the May 9 shooting death of Trevor Mark Harrison, was scheduled to appear in Humboldt County court yesterday but failed to show up, according to courthouse staff.
Steele, who gave the Outpost her account of the fatal May 9 encounter, was due to face charges of driving on a suspended license, possession of drugs and paraphernalia, but she was not arraigned because she failed to show up, a courthouse employee told the Outpost this morning.
The two men who accompanied Steele to the victim’s house on May 9 — Robert Louis Huntzinger, 34, and Billy Joe Giddings, 35 — have been arrested on charges of robbery and homicide. Arcata Police Chief Tom Chapman told the Outpost last month that his department and the District Attorney’s were still contemplating charges against Steele in connection with Harrison’s death.
[Note: This post was updated June 5 to include the charges of drug and drug paraphernalia possession.]
