As LoCO readers will recall, roughly 1,000 Humboldt youth spent yesterday morning at the South Spit pulling invasive European beach grass before coming together and forming a giant sturgeon damn near visible from space. Remember that highly publicized field trip/temporary forced labor camp? And remember how there were a couple of protesters on scene for some reason? Sure you do!
Well, today LoCO received a scrawled memorialization of the wacky day that was from local artist Steven Vander Meer — ‘twas he who plotted out the supersized sturgeon. Anywho, we present it here because, hey, it’s so rare that people draw things for us.
