UPDATE, 5/31: A LoCO source working on the fire tells us, unofficially, mind you, the fire was contained last night and that it is being investigated as an arson. Ultimately, an acre and a half burned.

Just at the stroke of 5 p.m., a structure fire was reported on Hostler Creek Road in Hoopa.
Within the hour, the fire had spread to nearby wildlands. At about 5:30, Calfire air units were scrambled to assist local agencies battling the fire. Twenty minutes later, dispatcher deployed crews from High Rock Conservation Camp.
Finally, just before 6 p.m., Calfire dispatchers noted that a plane with smokejumpers was also being sent in.
We’ll update when we have more. On the plus side, power is back on. (UPDATE: But another power outage has just started.)
