From the Fortuna Police Department:

On 9/28/2015, during the course of the investigation the suspect was identified as, James Colin Hamer (age 34) of Eureka. Fortuna Police Department received several phone calls regarding Hamer’s identity from the released surveillance photos.

On 9/28/2015 at about 8:40 am a citizen called the Fortuna Police Department to report a subject matching the description of the robbery suspect in Loleta near the Loleta Cheese Factory. Fortuna Police Department requested the assistance of Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office in attempting to contact the subject. Sheriff’s Deputy located and contacted the subject whom was identified as James Colin Hamer. Fortuna Police Officer responded and Hamer was arrested for Robbery.

James Colin Hamer (age 34) of Eureka was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked on the following charges.

• 1203.2 California Penal Code, Violation of Probation
