Northeastern Humboldt was treated to a light show early this morning.
A thunderstorm passed over Hoopa and Willow Creek around 1:30 a.m., producing lightning strikes for several hours.
The National Weather Service of Eureka reported that thunderstorms formed over Eastern Humboldt, and moved west throughout the night.
Willow Creek resident Rikkie Chambers stayed up to enjoy the storm, and captured these awesome shots with his video camera.
“Oh my oh my oh my .. We had the most amazing show in the wee hours of the morning,” Chambers wrote on the Facebook group Humboldt County,California in pictures, old and new. “From about 1:30am until past 3:30 when I finally crawled in bed there was thunder and lightning .. I mean real shake the ground roll through your soul thunder and the most spectacular display of lightning I think I have ever seen living here in Cali.”
