• Woman With ‘Life-Threatening Injuries’ Discovered in Fortuna; Police Investigating

From the Fortuna Police Department:

On February 19th 2016 at about 5:15 AM, officers from the Fortuna Police Department responded to the 3900 block of Rohnerville Rd., for a report of a woman down on the side of the roadway.

Upon arrival, officers located a 29 year-old female, who was going in and out of consciousness. Officers saw that the woman had been stabbed multiple times. The victim was rushed by ambulance to Redwood Memorial Hospital where she underwent emergency surgery.

The victim is in critical condition and in the process of being airlifted out of the area to a trauma center for further treatment.

This incident is under investigation and name of the victim is not being released at this time. If anyone has any information regarding the circumstances of this case, they are asked to contact the Fortuna Police Department at 725-7550 or the tip hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME.
