There will be helicopters today.

LoCO again renews its commitment to informing the public each and every time something soars through Humboldt airspace by passing along this preemptive “Don’t worry!” message from PG&E:

To help ensure our gas system is safe and reliable, PG&E is conducting routine helicopter patrols of gas transmission lines in Humboldt and Mendocino counties on Monday, Feb. 8. PG&E frequently uses helicopters for various types of inspections on its gas system as they are a fast and efficient method to identify potential gas leaks and safety issues along a pipeline.  If a potential safety issue is identified during an aerial patrol, PG&E will dispatch a ground crew to perform a more detailed inspection.

Thanks for the heads up allowing us to not need to tilt our heads up!
