UPDATE 4:44 p.m.: From Suddenlink:

Suddenlink services were interrupted for about 20 percent of our customers in Humboldt County early this morning.  Our engineers quickly determined the cause, completed repairs and restored service in a little more than an hour.  We apologize for any inconvenience to our customers who were affected.

###

Suddenlink went dark this morning just before 8 a.m., as Internet, cable and phone services were interrupted to the the greater Humboldt Bay Area.

A Suddenlink customer service representative told one caller this morning — your Lost Coast Outpost, to be precise — that the outage was widespread,  touching Eureka, Fortuna, Arcata and McKinleyville, at minimum, and that the company had no estimated time of restoral.

Eureka Friends of the LoCO have been telling us that they have already been switched on, but a McKinleyvillian on our Facebook wall says that as of this writing, she is still without.
