We don’t have a lot of information on this yet, but a 24-year-old man was stabbed in the neck early this morning on McKinleyville’s D Avenue.
The Sheriff’s Office had been called to a “disturbing the peace” incident at an address on the 1900 block of D Avenue sometime around midnight. But the response changed quickly, after they got word that a person — possibly a third party, associated with a different house on that block — had been stabbed by one of the people involved in the original dispute.
The first report of the stabbing came over police radio at about 12:15 a.m.:
The California Highway Patrol was called to assist, along with medical personnel. The victim was reported to be “bleeding heavily from the neck,” and officers were unable to immediately locate his assailant.
We will update when we know more.
