UPDATE, 11:40 a.m.: Hundreds of gallons of butane have been discovered on the site, according to scanner traffic.
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office has been called to the scene of a possible hash lab explosion on the 4000 block of Salmon Creek Road in Southern Humboldt.
Local fire agencies and Calfire were the first emergency responders to the scene, about an hour ago. They have since requested additional resources, including a Hazmat team, and — according to scanner traffic — are beginning to evacuate nearby residences.
Salmon Creek Road is closed near the fire. We’ll update when we know more
