Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office press release: 

 

During the week of March 27th, 2017, Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Deputies conducted a sex offender sweep at various locations throughout the county. The purpose of this sweep was to make sure sex registrants are complying with California Department of Justice Laws, providing law enforcement with updated addresses of where they reside.

With the assistance from the United States Marshal’s Office, Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office, Humboldt County Probation Department, Rio Dell Police Department and FBI, 329 registrants were attempted to be contacted. It was found that 256 registrants were in compliance, 32 were out of compliance, 3 were determined to be deceased, 35 were unable to be located, contacted or verified and 3 were arrested.

Arrest warrants are being requested through the Humboldt County DA’s Office for the 32 registrants that were found to be out of compliance. HCSO will continue to attempt contact with the 35 registrants that were unable to be contacted along with additional registrants residing within the county.
