You can’t get to Willow Creek without chains on your Mazda’s tires, as of right now! Says Caltrans Facebook:

R1 chain controls are now in effect at Berry Summit on Route 299 in Humboldt County.

Chains, traction devices or snow tires are required on the drive axle of all vehicles except four wheel/all wheel drive vehicles.
