In a follow up to its press release earlier this week reminding folks not to trespass in Kneeland in search of snow joy, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office has thought of another place that is off limits for your next snowball melee. They explain in the press release below:
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind those looking for fun in the snow that the first five miles of Tiltow Hill Rd from Hwy 299 is private property. The Sheriff’s Office has received numerous complaints about people leaving their trash and damaging the landscape while on private property. Unfortunately, the property owners are then left with the responsibility of cleaning up after trespassers. Areas available for the public’s use are marked with US Forest Service signs. Areas not marked with US Forest Service Signs are to be considered private property. When visiting all public and private lands, please remember to remove all your belongings and trash.
To report trespassing or any other incident, please contact the Sheriff’s Office at (707) 445-7251 or leave an anonymous tip at (707) 268-2539.
