UPDATE, 3:46 p.m.: Deanna Contreras of PG&E’s media division calls up to clarify our possibly confusing headline. The utility doesn’t expect any of its Orleans customers affected by the outage to be back online today, she said — only those in Willow Creek and Hoopa.
They’re hoping to have Orleans back tomorrow.

We’re on day three of the mass power outages in the Hoopa Valley and environs. Pacific Gas and Electric just send out another update to the media, saying that 22 crews are currently at work in the east county, and that many people should be back online soon. More detail below.
From PG&E:
The safety of our customers, crews and communities we serve is our top priority. There are more than 22 crews working safely and as quickly as possible to restore power outages in Humboldt County. Most of those crews currently are working in Hoopa and Willow Creek. There are currently about 2,400 customers in Humboldt County without power due to the winter storm earlier this week, including 1,428 in Hoopa, 244 in Willow Creek and 422 in Orleans.
The transmission line along Highway 96 that was out of service yesterday, per my media statement yesterday, came back online by 5am. Now crews are assessing affected distribution lines and will make additional repairs safely and as quickly as possible. Power is expected to be restored to many of those customers in Hoopa and Willow Creek throughout Thursday afternoon and evening.
