Edith Hodges Hoffmann passed away Friday, July 21, at her home.

Edith was born July 28, 1929. She along with her husband, Dale, were long time residents of Scotia and Fortuna. She worked as a librarian at Scotia Elementary and Fortuna Union High School. She loved to cross stitch and stitched many elaborate patterns, winning many best of show ribbons at the Humboldt County fair, and even making an appearance at the State Fair.

Edith loved spending time with her family and many a summer days were spent swimming in the Eel River, cooking and hiking in the redwoods and making bonfires at the beach.

She is survived by her loving husband, five children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1444 Ross Hill Road, Fortuna.
