Toy Ann Hufford was born November 27th, 1950 to Henry and Anna Smith in Toledo Oregon, and passed away at her home in McKinleyville on June 5th, 2017.

She grew up in Oregon mostly living on the coast in Bay City and the Tillamook area. Her passions in life were her children and grandchildren and her love of art. Her paintings were displayed all over her home for all to enjoy. She loved cooking and trying new recipes for family gatherings. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved listening to all kinds of music and shopping and going to lunch with her daughter.

In 1981 she married Gary Hufford and they moved to Eureka. She went to College of the Redwoods and obtained her Associates Degree in Medical Assisting. Toy and Gary were married for 35 years, until Gary’s passing in September of 2016.

Toy is survived by her Mother Anna Smith and her Daughter Michelle Mifflin (husband Russell), Sons Michael Carpenter (wife Lisa), Sheldon Hufford (wife Allison), Shawn Hufford (wife Erika), and Richard Peckinpaugh (wife Amy). Also survived by Grandchildren April, Kaylah, Jordan, Dru, Joey, Kylie, Hannah, Owen, Gabriel, Taylor, Shawn, Ethan, Lora, Ella, Celiece and Jamie. Great Grandchildren Olivia, Jonah, Hailey, Riley and one on the way this month. She is also survived by her loving Sister-in-law Joyce Stephens who came to help in time of need. She also has 9 surviving siblings and many nieces and nephews who she loved very much.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 35 years Gary Hufford and her Father Henry Smith, her sister Tina Smith and her grandson Liam Hufford. She will be buried with her husband in Oregon where they wished to spend eternal rest.
