Three Army Chinook Helicopters stopped for fuel at the California Redwood Coast (pause for breath) Humboldt County Airport today.

Emily Jacobs, Humboldt County’s airport program coordinator, told the Outpost that two of the Chinooks have since continued on to wherever they’re headed, but one is still at the airport.

Jacobs said an F-18 jet also did a surprise fly-by near the airport today.

“An F-18 did a low fly-by,” Jacobs said. “We are not sure why, but it was really cool!”
