For the third time in a little over a year, Ferndale’s own celebrity chef Guy Fieri has volunteered to feed first responders at the scene of a major Northern California wildfire.
The Butte County Sheriff’s Office shared photos on Sunday (Veterans Day) of Fieri feeding emergency personnel at Butte College, which is serving as a law enforcement staging area.
“Guy Fieri made a surprise visit to serve dinner to everyone at the law enforcement staging area at Butte College,” the BCSO wrote on social media. “Thank you so much Guy for filling our bellies and lifting our spirits.”
Fieri also gave his own thanks on social media.
“In today’s tumultuous world, it’s amazing to see our fire fighters, military, law enforcement and first responders come together to rescue our communities devastated by fire,” Fieri wrote on Twitter. “So many great people stepping up to take care of one another #ProudAmerican #CampFire.”
In July, Fieri helped feed fire evacuees and emergency personnel involved in the Carr Fire. Before that, he served up warm meals to those affected by the Sonoma County Wildfires.
The folks from #ChicoRice just came through with 150lb rice! Great people up here in Chico!! pic.twitter.com/HKmn5440wE
