A 7.0 magnitude earthquake rocked Alaska this morning causing roadways to collapse and people to flee from buildings. USGS says the quake struck at 8:29 a.m. local time (9:29 a.m. Pacific time) and was centered about 7 miles north of Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city.
The National Weather Service has issued a tsunami morning for parts of Alaska, but say there is no threat to California.
1010 AM PST: A preliminary magnitude 7.0 earthquake occurred 10 miles northeast of Anchorage. There is NO TSUNAMI Threat for the California Coast.
