City of Rio Dell release:

The City of Rio Dell is seeking the public’s help to identify the individual or individuals responsible for the illegal dumping of hazardous materials into the public recycling bins. Illegal dumping occurred on or around Monday, April 15th and also on Tuesday, April 2nd.

The materials dumped include “Super S 303 Tractor Hydraulic Fluid” that was most likely changed on a piece of equipment older than 1974. The person(s) responsible most likely worked on this equipment the weekend prior to the illegal dumping.

“If the illegal dumping continues, the City will need to permanently close the public recycling bins.” Stated Rio Dell City Manager Kyle Knopp.
