The redwoods aren’t the only giants we live among here in Humboldt County, but it’s not until one of our ocean neighbors washes ashore that we remember what puny twerps we really are.

Outpost reader Robert Torres recorded footage of this dead whale floating around the coastline near Seawood and Patrick’s Point Drives in Trinidad yesterday.

Torres wanted the Outpost to mention that he’s an FAA drone pilot, and was given permission to film the whale by the Director of the Marine Mammal Education and Research Program at Humboldt State. So no picking on him, drone haters!

Anyways, enjoy the video of the big, dead, beautiful whale, you beautiful, twerpy, little land mammals.
