Two more local football players have been recognized for their achievements last season and named to the Cal-Hi Sports All-State Football Small Schools Team, which was released earlier this week.
Fortuna’s Sheaden Kadle was named to the first-team offensive line, while St. Bernard’s Connor Chase was included on the second-team O-line.
Both played a huge role for their respective teams last season as leaders on and off the field, while setting the tone for each.
Kadle was a key component on the Huskies’ North Coast Section championship drive, that included beating the top three seeds in the bracket on the road on consecutive weekends.
The section title was the second straight for Kadle and the Huskies, who also claimed a state championship in 2017.
His 2018 campaign was impressive enough for Cal-Hi Sports to include him as one of the top-five small schools offensive linemen in the state.
Chase, meanwhile, was a four-year starter along the line for the Crusaders, and a state champion himself as a freshman in 2015.
In 2018 the experienced center helped lead a young Crusaders squad to a second-round appearance in the NCS playoffs.
The two seniors join Eureka’s Tyce Mullins, who was also honored this week as one of the top seven linebackers in NorCal on the SportStarsMag.com 2018 All-NorCal Football Defense.
