Long, shimmery piles of glass currently line the sidewalk in front of Fat Cat Bakery on Seventh Street in Eureka after someone methodically smashed out panes from multiple windows early this morning. 

Bakery owner Philip Burns told the Outpost that he received a notification at about 1 a.m. that the bakery’s alarm had been set off. At the scene, police told him they found the a spark plug believed to have been the instrument used to break the windows. 

Burns characterized the vandalism as suspicious and said he might have an idea as to who the perpetrator was. EPD confirmed that they had filed a felony vandalism report.
