By Ray Hamill — Humboldt State interim Athletic Director Duncan Robins has informed the school’s sports department that Friday will be his final day in charge.

Robins has been overseeing the department in an interim role for the past two years, and has been heavily criticized during his time in charge, most notably after axing the school’s football program last year.

Earlier this month the school announced the search for a full-time AD had been ended but would be re-launched in the future after new school president Tom Jackson, Jr., takes over, and that a new interim AD would be named before the end of the month.

In an email to the department on Monday, Robins said there would be an official announcement before the end of the day that his “last day in the office will be Friday.”

HSU released a press release on Monday afternoon, making the news official.
